Abstract: When the roof of gob side entry was soft rock composite roof and floor, the phenomenon of roof subsidence and floor bulging was significantly increased due to the action of lateral pressure, and the effect of gob side entry was poor. By revealing the deformation causes of soft rock composite roof retaining roadway along the goaf, comprehensive technical measures such as basic support in the roadway with high strength, high rigidity and high prestress, constant resistance anchor cable + W steel belt support beside the roadway, small-diameter full-length presplitting roof cutting technology and floor control technology was put forward, which effectively solved the technical problems of roof cutting and pressure relief retaining roadway along the goaf under the condition of such roof and floor. Based on the optimization research of key parameters, the design parameters of roof cutting retaining roadway under composite roof in goaf of Xinda Mine were put forward. The field application showed that it had achieved good retaining roadway effect and met the requirements of secondary reuse, which provided a useful reference for retaining roadway under similar conditions.
