Abstract: In view of the problems of complex construction process and poor support effect of the traditional paste concrete filling material in gob-side entry retaining, the technology of high water material support was proposed. Through the analysis of the action mechanism of the roadway side filling body and the calculation of the filling support parameters, the water cement ratio of the high water material, the volume of the filling body and the support strength were determined. The field application results showed that after filling and supporting with high water material, the surrounding rock of the reserved roadway was obviously deformed within 20 ~ 100m from the working face. The maximum displacement of the roof and floor on the side of the solid coal body was 590mm, the maximum displacement of the roof and floor on the side of the filling body was 800mm, and the maximum displacement of the two sides was 560mm; The maximum load carried by the filling body was 10.5 MPa, the deformation of roadway surrounding rock was within the control range, and the strength of the filling body met the maximum load support requirements.
