Hydraulic support is an important support equipment in coal mining face. The ZY10000 / 26/55 hydraulic support shield beam of Huozhou Xinzhi Mine was taken as the research object, the structure and main functions of the shield beam were introduced. The construction of the shield beam was completed using SolidWorks 3D drawing software and ANASYS Workbench 16.0 simulation analysis software. According to the simulation and analysis, it was found that there was stress concentration at the position of the front cover, which was hidden safety risky. The method was optimized by increasing the thickness of the cover plate at the front end of the shield beam. When the thickness of the front cover plate was 28 mm, the stress concentration and the safety of the hydraulic support were improved.
