The middle-cylinder of the hydraulic support column used in mining plays an important role in ensuring the safety of the coal mining process, so the mechanical properties are required to be high, and the mechanical properties can be significantly improved by heat treatment. 27SiMn steel pipe was taken as an example, a heat treatment and quenching and tempering process route of quenching and tempering was formulated, and a heat treatment research was conducted on the material of the cylinder. Experiments showed that the hardness and tensile strength of the cylinder material met the requirements after the heat treatment process was established, with good stability.
