As a support equipment for coal mine fully mechanized mining face, hydraulic support can provide safe working space for personnel and equipment, which is of great significance for coal mine safety production and high production and efficiency of working face. Side guards, side push jacks and springs, guide rods and accessories were arranged on both sides of the hydraulic support top beam. The side guards were fixed on one side, and the one side was in active state. The fixed side and the movable side guide were usually of the same design during the manufacture and use of the hydraulic support. By analyzing the function and force of the movable side and the fixed side protection device, the differential design of the spring guide rod was proposed, and the fixed side spring guide rod was changed from round steel to steel tube to reduce the material weight and reduce the manufacturing cost. Practice showed that the differential design of the spring guide rod was suitable for all types of hydraulic supports with a single side push jack, with certain economic benefits and promotion value.
