Hydraulic support is an indispensable protection facility in large-scale mechanized mining systems, which is related to the safety of personnel and equipment in the entire working face. However, the complexity and particularity of the underground environment poses a serious threat to the service life and performance of the hydraulic support. Especially as an important control component, the column often leaks due to surface corrosion, which affects the use of the hydraulic support and restricts the production schedule. At present, the surface protective film technology has been widely used in underground environment protection of pillars, jacks and the like. This paper analyzed the surface corrosion mechanism of the pillar material and the three widely used technologies. The comprehensive properties that the underground environmental protection film should possess were summarized, and the possibility of potential surface film protection technology development was put forward.
