For the surface of the top plate aquifer, the construction of parallel water discharge roadway with cut eyes is one of the means to effectively intercept the water flow from the top roof to the coal wall. Therefore, the stability and integrity of the coal column between the open cutting eyes and the water discharge roadway was crucial to the water blocking effect. Combined with the engineering example, the pre-crack blasting technique to construct blasting hole in the open hole was adopted to cut the hard roof in advanceand release the load distributed on the coal pillar to ensure the stability of the coal pillar. From the numerical simulation and construction results, the purpose of protecting the effective water blocking of the coal column was achieved, and the efficient and safe recovery of coal was promoted. This technique provided valuable experience for restricting coal production by controlling the water inrush in caving and goaf under similar geological conditions.
