Through the research and analysis of the fully mechanized top coal caving process flow of No.13101 Face in Ciyaogou Mine, combined with the geological conditions and field conditions of the working face, the reasonable caving step distance and caving method of the working face were determined. The field application practice results showed that after the fully mechanized top coal caving mining technology was adopted, the coal recovery rate and top coal recovery rate of the working face reached more than 90 %, and the maximum monthly output of the working face reached 579,800 tons, which realized safe and efficient mining.
