In order to effectively control the gas in the mining area of the 8214 working face in Tashan Mine, according to the gas endowment in the face, it was decided to use directional long borehole to control the gas, by analyzing the principle of setting parameters, and further using numerical simulation software, it was determined that the extraction negative pressure of the directional long borehole was 15 kPa, and the borehole layout layer was 36 m away from the coal seam floor, based on the numerical simulation results. The design of the gas management program in the mining area, and a comparative analysis of the gas concentration in the upper corner of the working face was given before and after the implementation of the mining program. The results showed that after the implementation of the mining plan, the gas concentration in the upper corner was stable at about 0.4% during the recovery period, and the gas control effect was significant.
