In order to fully improve the gas drainage efficiency of the 31009 working face, according to the specific geological conditions of the face and the gas occurrence characteristics, by analyzing the principle of hydraulic fracturing and permeability enhancement technology, it was determined to use a segmented hydraulic fracturing scheme in the air return roadway. The parameters of the hydraulic fracturing scheme were settled through theoretical analysis and on-site practice, and after the hydraulic fracturing, the gas extraction effect of the hydraulic fracturing borehole and the non-hydraulic fracturing borehole were monitored to verify the hydraulic fracturing effect. The results showed that after the hydraulic fracturing and permeability enhancement technology was used in the borehole, the gas concentration in the pre-drained borehole was increased by more than 30% and the extraction volume was greater than 2 times. The hydraulic fracturing and permeability enhancement effect was significant.
