In order to improve the effect of gas extraction in high gas coal seams, according to the technical characteristics of hydraulic punching and coal seam drilling, a hydraulic Integrated punching and drilling device was developed, and the design of the nozzle was optimized. The effective extraction radius of gas after hydraulic punching was settled and the changing law of gas extraction after punching through the field test of Yangdong Mine was analyzed. The results showed that the hydraulic punching device nozzle optimization effectively reduced the occurrence of hole-holding and the gas extraction time, shortened the gas extraction compliance. The production efficiency of the working face was improved, the effective pumping radius was increased to 7.0 ~ 8.0 m after hydraulic punching. The gas content increased by 2 to 3 times and the gas extraction amount increased by 7.5 times.
