The average buried depth of 4326 working face in a mine in Shanxi is 167 m. This kind of shallow buried working face is close to the surface. With the continuous development of mining work, the surface cracks continue to develop, which seriously threatens the safe production of coal mines. In view of this, this paper uses SF6 tracer gas + SF6 qualitative detector + SF6 quantitative detector to carry out the detection of air leakage channels in surface cracks. The test results show that the air leakage velocity of collapse cracks is large, and the maximum air leakage distances of the three kinds of cracks are 591 m, 493 m and 531 m respectively, which is easy to cause spontaneous combustion of residual coal in goaf. Measures should be taken to plug surface cracks to reduce air leakage.
