Abstract: This paper studies the safety application of gob-side entry retaining technology from the aspect of gas prevention and control, analyzes the 2 times of gas overrun in the 4105 return air roadway section of Huaye Coal Industry, and puts forward a series of gas control technologies for gob-side entry retaining in high gas mine, such as arranging the gas drainage system of the roof of the retaining roadway, adding the gas emission monitoring method, optimizing the ventilation system and reasonably selecting the spraying and sealing time of the goaf, which are applied in Huaye Coal Mine of high gas mine. The results show that during the mining period of 4105 working face, the gas concentration in the working face is reduced from 0.15 % to 0.15 %, the methane concentration in the retained roadway is stable at 0.1 % ~ 0.15 %, and the working face successfully realizes 1050 m gob-side entry retaining. The feasibility of the application of gob-side entry retaining technology without coal pillar in high gas mine is verified, and it also provides ideas and means for gas control in mines with similar conditions.
