Abstract: To explore the village protection coal pillar size and cut the top pressure relief to the surface protection, numerical simulation software of UDEC was used to verify the feasibility of different coal pillar retention schemes. From the perspective of the advanced influence range of mining on the surface, it was considered that the surface settlement could be controlled within a reasonable range by reducing the village protection coal pillar from 200 m to 180 m and cooperating with the roof cutting and pressure relief measures to achieve precise roof fracturing. This study provided reference for other similar mines.
