In this paper, the mining characteristics of the hard roof face are analyzed firstly, and then the safe fracture condition of the hard roof is deduced theoretically, and then the mining condition of the hard roof is analyzed. And the conclusion is drawn that the strengthening of the support and the resistance of the support can avoid the fracture of the hard roof in the roof control area. Then the support principle and the relevant supporting parameters of the hard roof are calculated. The research results of this paper have positive guiding significance for the choice and arrangement of coal mine face support.
