The influence of the support strength of the support on the coal wall of the fully mechanized mining face was studied from both theoretical and simulation aspects. The numerical calculation software FLAC3D was used to simulate the calculation. The calculation results showed that with the continuous increase of the support strength of the support large, the amount of roof subsidence and the maximum horizontal displacement of the coal wall showed a gradual decrease. The simulation analysis results were consistent with the theoretical calculation results, which showed the rationality of the establishment of the simulation model. It also showed that increasing the support strength of the stent within a certain range had an important effect on controlling the occurrence of the coal wall lining.
