In order to solve the application problem of retaining roadway along the 18401 working face of Tunlan Mine of Shanxi Coking Coal Group, the feasibility of the paste concrete as filling material was verified by theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and engineering practice and observation, and the reasonable filling width was determined. Through the reinforcement support of the roadside support structure, the field application and roadway displacement observation results showed that during the working face mining process, the maximum moving amount of the top side of the solid coal side of the retaining roadway along the empty road was 785 mm, and the maximum displacement of the filling body side was 595 mm, the maximum subsidence of the top side of the solid coal side was 150 mm, and the side of the filling body was 250 mm, the amount of subsidence of the roof side of the filling body was greater than that of the real coal side, and the deformation of the surrounding rock in the roadway along the empty roadway was in the control range. This technology provided a reference for the design and application of other working faces along the empty roadway.
