Based on the actual geological conditions of the overburden water fracture zone on the 8115 fully mechanized caving face of Zengzifang Mine of Datong Mining Group, a reasonable support method was selected for the working face, and a finite element model was established. The maximum and minimum principal stress distribution of surrounding rock, combined with the Mohr Coulomb safety factor method, the design of roadway support parameters was made, the observation stations in the roadway were used to observe the top and bottom of the roadway and the displacement of the two groups and the amount of surrounding rock. The results showed that the support scheme achieved good results and could ensure the safety of the roof of the working face.
