Based on difficult support of broken surrounding rock in auxiliary haulage roadway of Xiaozhuang Mine and analysis of deformation features of surrounding rock in original support scheme, a method of differential reinforcement for roadway support was put forward to solve problems of severe instability. FLAC3D numerical simulation was used to contrast primary support, roof and floor of surrounding rock and two-sided displacement after strengthening support. The analysis result showed that after strengthening support, deformation of surrounding rock could be effectively controlled, and its deformation law was obtained. The deformation of roadway surrounding rock within 100 m was monitored through industrial test, which was clear that numerical simulation results were coincided with reinforced supporting. As a result, strength and bearing capacity of surrounding rock were improved. Meanwhile, crushing deformation of roadway section was effectively controlled as well.
