Hanxing mining area is a typical water abundance mining area in North China type coalfield. The hydrogeological conditions are extremely complex, and the threat of the thick Ordovician limestone strong karst aquifer in the coal seam floor is very serious. In order to solve this problem, the ground advanced regional control technology is proposed. Taking the surface regional control project of Xipang well in Dongpang mine as an example, this paper analyzed the reasons for the total leakage of drilling fluid and the abnormal decrease of water level in the hole during the control of Ordovician limestone water disaster. It is considered that the drilling of Ordovician limestone water disaster control hole encountered a limited isolated space without hydraulic connection with Ordovician limestone aquifer, which indicated that there may not always be hydraulic connection in Ordovician limestone aquifer, and there may be isolated space without hydraulic connection with Ordovician limestone water. In order to eliminate the threat of mine safety caused by the connection between this space and other karst fissures in Ordovician limestone after coal seam mining, grouting was used to control it.
