Xinji Mine 2-208 working face roadway watering phenomenon was serious, the field observation showed that the water gush was 141.8 m3/h, and there was a continuous increase, the top plate overlying rock body after delamination calculation, it was found that delamination occured between 1 and 2, 4 and 5, 6 and 7, combined with crack zone height calculation and UDEC numerical simulation showed that the main delamination location was between 6 and 7, the overlying rock layer. The stratification occured at 100 m, and 180~220 m was influenced by the water body's self-gravity and the dynamic pressure of mining, which led to the rock body reaching the limit displacement and rupture of sudden water, and new stratification occurred every 120 m interval during the mining process. During the mining process, new stratified water was generated at 120 m intervals. The top plate stratified water guide hole was used to release the stratified water, and after the release, the surface surge water was 9 m3/h, which ensured the safety of the working face.
