Sihe Mine is a rare high-gas mine in China and even in the world. The roof high-diameter large-diameter directional drilling is used to control the goaf and upper corner gas in the working face. The reasonable drilling diameter was determined by numerical simulation research to be 153 mm. In order to solve the many shortcomings of the traditional directional drilling technology, a new drilling technology method combining the common sliding directional drilling and composite drilling technology was proposed, and it was designed to be applied in the 5301 working face of Sihe Mine The monitoring results of field application showed that the new composite drilling technology improved the mechanical drilling speed by more than 30%, and the average bending strength (curvature) of the drilling trajectory was small, which provided a reliable guarantee for the efficient drilling of large-diameter directional drilling of the roof.
