Sihe Mine is a rare high-gas mine in China and even in the world. In order to further reduce the gas return volume at the working face, the W1305 working face was designed to carry out the high-level large-diameter directional drilling and extraction of the goaf gas technology in the roof. On-site physical inspection and other methods showed that the roof height and large-diameter directional drilling plane was more reasonable within 15 ~ 60 m in the roadway; the section was 30 ~ 45 m away from the coal seam roof, and the drilling gas concentration was greater. The gas concentration at each corner of the upper corner of the return air roadway before mining was high, reaching a maximum of 0.65%. After high-level drilling intervention, the gas concentration decreased to 0.4%, and the gas treatment effect at the working face was significant.
