In order to eliminate the effects of fire and gas concealed hazards in a fully mechanized mining face, the prevention theories and methods of such accidents were discussed to analyze the change pattern of gas emission in the working face, the natural firing cycle and the characteristics of the disaster. The working surface cladding and coal seam gas monitoring, nitrogen injection, inhibition, and pressure equalization system was adopted to eliminate the natural firing factors in the goaf, as a result of blocking the ground air leakage channel at the same time, and then performing basic measurements such as coal seam gas content and taking targeted measures. The results showed that high gas mines were prone to spontaneous combustion of coal seams, and fire prevention must be carried out in the goaf to ensure the safe mining.
