In order to better solve the problem of gas overrun in goaf of mine, the high-position long borehole was used instead of the traditional method to control the upper corner gas. The 172107 working face of Dashucun Mine was designed with 4 directional long boreholes in No. 2 drilling site and No. 3 drilling site. The drilling trajectory was designed in advance, and the drilling was extended to the specified horizon of the fracture zone according to the preset trajectory. The gas drainage effect, economic benefit and safety benefit of directional long borehole and high gas borehole proved that the directional long distance borehole had higher extraction efficiency and better economic benefit. The directional drilling technology had the value of further promotion and application in the Dashucun mining area, which could improve the gas control effect and promote the safe production of coal mines.
