Study on Synthesis and Properties of Polyoxyethylene Ether Sulfonate Surfactant

Sodium polyoxyethylene ether sulfonates(AESO) was synthesized in laboratory using fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether sodium sulfate and mixing sulfonating agent in water at pressure heat condition. The yield of the product achieved 86.4%(mass fraction) with the purity of 98% (mass fraction) after purification. The structure of the product was characterized with IR , and the application properties were measured. The results showed that AESO had a good surface activity which surface active had closed to AES, had a lower critical micelle concentration which was 3.2×10-4 mol·L-1 at 25 ℃, and a low surface tension which was 30.75 mN·m-1,as well as had a good temperature stability and an excellent acid and alkali stability.
