Abstract：As the intensification of the global aquaculture industry, the drawbacks such as rapid spread of diseases were brought about. Dinitrothoramine is a broad-spectrum, efficient, and safe anti coccidian drug that can quickly and effectively solve the disease risks of poultry and other centralized farming. After a large number of experiments, a new method for preparing dinitrotropine was obtained. Using o-methylbenzonitrile as the raw material, 3,5-dinitro-2-methylbenzonitrile was nitrated with nitric acid at 45 ~ 50 ℃ in concentrated sulfuric acid to obtain 3,5-dinitro-2-methylbenzonitrile. The intermediate was then hydrolyzed in 90% sulfuric acid to obtain a crude product of dinitrotropine, which was then recrystallized in ethanol to obtain a high-purity finished product of dinitrotropine. Compared with existing processes, the method has mild reaction conditions and no longer uses sulfoxide chloride, making the entire production process safer and more environmentally friendly.
