Taking the west wing No.2 gas control roadway of Licun Mine Coal as the research background, by establishing the roof mechanical model of roadway goaf area, the maximum goaf roof distance of roadway was analyzed and solved; Combined with the numerical simulation software, the deformation characteristics and stress distribution evolution law of roadway surrounding rock under different empty roof distance were studied, and the reasonable cycle step was determined; The roadway support scheme and support parameters were optimized. The test results showed that the tunneling efficiency and support speed of roadway under large cycle step were effectively improved, and the surrounding rock control effect was good, which met the requirements of rapid tunneling.
