In view of the high content of butterfly acid, low yield and high production cost in the old process of folic acid production, the processes of folic acid production were studied. The causes of the main impurity butterfly acid in the product was explored, the old process of butterfly acid was adjusted, and the process conditions were optimized in order to effectively reduce the content of butterfly acid on the premise of ensuring the yield and quality. The experimental results show that the high concentration of sulfuric acid used in acid dissolution process is the main reason for the high content of butterfly acid in folic acid. By reducing the sulfuric acid concentration from 45% to 25% ~ 35%, the content of butterfly acid in the product was reduced from 1.5% to less than 0.6%, the production cost was reduced.
