In order to master the deformation of overlying strata in mining, overlying strata deformation of Z11590 working face was taken as observation, convergence between roof and floor, stress between top and bottom plates, overburden and lead support pressure of overlying strata were observed. The result shows that the filling paste made roof subsidence rate slow down, sinking rate gradually stable, maximum subsidence value 0.376 m, vertical surrounding rock stress grew slowly, with maximum value 8.7 MPa, filling load bearing pressure was 75 % of original rock stress, the height of the roof ionosphere fissure got control, with maximum height 15 mm, peak distance of advanced support pressure is 2.0 m, the influenced scope was about 14.4 m, maximum peak pressure is 24.6 MPa, bearing pressure coefficient 2.12.
