Abstract: The No.2-300 transport roadway of Ganhe Mine was faced with the problem of gob-side entry excavating along the goaf with accumulated water. From the perspective of water disaster prevention and control, the water source was analyzed. It was known that the accumulated water in the adjacent goaf was the main water source that threatened its safe production, and the setting of waterproof coal pillars in the section was particularly critical. Through theoretical analysis and calculation, it was concluded that the reasonable coal pillar width was 24.5 m, and the designed coal pillar width was 30 m. In the engineering practice stage, the transient electromagnetic method was used to detect. The results showed that the depth of the water pressure failure zone in the coal pillar was 5 ~ 12 m, the integrity and water isolation effect of the coal pillar were good, and the waterproof coal pillar in the 30 m section was reasonable and reliable.
