Abstract: In order to analyze the occurrence and development potential of coalbed methane in the southern area of Xiadian-Wangcun, based on the specific geological and engineering conditions in the study area, the analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy evaluation method are used to calculate and evaluate the favorable areas in the study area. It is concluded that the favorable areas for the development of No.3 coal seam and No.15 coal seam in the exploration area are the north-central part of two sets of faults and the north-central part of coal seam. Further, the technical roadmap and scheme of coalbed methane exploration are designed, and 3 coalbed methane parameters + drainage test wells and 8 production test wells in the exploration area are perforated and fractured to transform different coal seams. At the same time, the pre-hazard analysis method is used to evaluate and control the safety risk of exploration and construction. According to the current exploration and analysis results, No.3 coal seam and No.15 coal seam have certain development prospects.
