Ionic liquid is one of the most important potential green solvents in 21st century because of its many advantages, such as good dissolving capacity and physical and chemical properties, high boiling point, less volatile, and without sencondary pollutions. Different concentrations of caprolactam - tetrabutylammonium fluoride ionic liquid aqueous solutions were prepared, the surface tensionse of which were measured. The results showed that the surface tensions of the ionic liquids decreased with increase of temperature and the ionic liquid concentration;the surface tension of the pure ionic liquid was smaller than that of water at certain ionic liquid concentration.
