In the multi-coal seam mining outburst mine and high gas mine, after the gas control of the coal seam in the fully mechanized caving face, the gas problem of the adjacent layer and the goaf during the mining period is the key to ensure the high yield and high efficiency of the mine. The extraction of the high drainage roadway along the roof is an effective measure to solve the large amount of pressure relief gas emission in the working face. In order to find the reasonable layer of the high drainage roadway along the No.13 coal seam in Yangquan mining area, the similar simulation, empirical calculation and field investigation analysis were carried out on the mining of 15313 working face. The research shows that the height of the caving zone of the overlying strata on the 15313 working face is 20 m, the height of the fracture zone is 20 ~ 76 m, the bending subsidence zone is more than 76 m, the width of the gas enrichment zone is about 20 m, and the roof strike high drainage roadway is arranged in the gas enrichment zone above 36 m of the coal seam roof. The practice shows that the gas extraction amount of high drainage roadway presents the extraction process of slow growth, rapid growth, back and forth fluctuation, rapid growth and back and forth fluctuation. The pure flow rate and extraction rate of high drainage roadway change with the height of high drainage roadway. The high drainage roadway of 15313 working face is 35.79-47.6 m, and the distance between roadway and return airway is about 43 m. The effect of pressure relief gas extraction is better, and the extraction efficiency of working face is more than 90 %.
