There is a large fault in No.2 coal seam of Nanguan Coal Industry, which makes it difficult to advance during the working face passing through the fault hard rock, and the shearer picks are seriously worn. In view of this situation, the pre-splitting blasting technology is proposed to weaken the fault hard rock. By means of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, the reasonable diameter of blasting hole is determined to be 75 mm and the spacing is 1.4 m. According to the occurrence of faults, the inclination angle of blasting hole is determined to be 50 °, and the field test is carried out in 1207 working face. The test results show that after blasting weakening of fault hard rock, the daily loss of shearer picks is reduced by 30, the daily average footage is increased by 0.8 m, and the effect of pre-splitting blasting weakening is good.
