Abstract: In the process of coal mining, due to the influence of working face roadway layout, geological conditions and other factors, the occurrence of irregular working face is gradually increasing. The variation of stress field in irregular working face is different from that in regular working face, and the temporal and spatial evolution law of microseism is also different. Based on the microseismic monitoring data of No.182300 Face in Wutongzhuang Mine, the frequency and energy development characteristics of irregular working face, as well as the spatial distribution evolution rule, were analyzed over time. The main conclusions were as follows: with the change of working face dip length, the frequency of microseismic events would show a positive correlation change. The inclined length of the working face was increasing and the number of microseismic events was at a high level. With the advance of mining, the variation range of working face inclined length became smaller, and the frequency of microseismic events decreased. The development of microseismic events was obviously disturbed by mining, and the frequency of microseismic events decreased obviously after stoping. During mining, the frequency of small energy events was the largest, accounting for 58.87%, while the number of large energy events was the least, which indicated that the rock mass fracture scale was small during mining, and did not extend to the deep and large scale.
