Abstract: In order to solve the problems of roof caving and spalling in the fault structure area of the working face, No.2303 Face of Licun Mine was taken as the engineering background, the stress evolution law of the large fault in the working face was studied by numerical simulation. It was concluded that with the decrease of the distance between the working face and the fault, the shear stress increased gradually, and the normal stress decreased gradually. At the same time, grouting reduced the phenomenon of stress concentration and controlled the deformation and failure of the surrounding rock of the working face. Based on the numerical simulation results, the control measures of ' grouting + anchor cable + metal mesh ' were proposed, and the feasibility of the scheme was verified by field industrial test.
