Abstract: In response to the problems of weak and fragile surrounding rock and severe floor heave in the high stress return air uphill roadway of Pingmei No. 8 Mine, a multi-level joint support scheme of "concrete+anchor mesh+grouting+pressure relief groove" was proposed by adopting the support concept of bottom plate pressure relief and surrounding rock anchor injection. Combined with UDEC numerical software, the width of the pressure relief groove was determined to be 1.2 m and the depth to be 2.0 m. Through drilling and observation, it was shown that the overall integrity of the surrounding rock in the tunnel was good, and the deformation of the tunnel had been effectively controlled.
