In view of the current situation that mining of No.3005 Face will affect the stability of the surrounding rock of the north wing belt roadway, in order to ensure the surrounding rock stability during and after No.3005 Face mining and ensure the safety and smooth progress of the subsequent mine production, according to the actual geological conditions of the roadway working face, the numerical simulation method was used to determine the safe and reasonable coal pillar size of the north wing belt roadway under the influence of No.3005 Face dynamic pressure to be 50 m. The industrial test showed that the soft coal of the roof and the surrounding rock of the two sides had been effectively controlled, and no roof fall, floor heave or rib spalling accident occurred during the test. The study showed that different coal pillar widths had a significant impact on the stability of the roadway, which provided a reasonable reference for the confirmation of coal pillar width in other similar cases.
