Abstract: In order to study the effect of soluble organic matter in coal on the pore structure and mechanical properties of coal, the experimental coal samples were prepared from fat coal, and ethyl acetate was used as extraction solvent. The specific surface area and pore size analyzer and servo press were used to explore the changes of pore size distribution and mechanical parameters of coal samples before and after extraction. The research shows that after 30 h of extraction, the mass of experimental coal sample decreases by 3.0%. After extraction, the average pore size and pore volume of coal samples increased, the specific surface area decreased, and the soluble organic matter mainly distributed in 1.5 ~ 5.3 nm. Compared with raw coal, the compressive strength of briquette samples after extraction was increased by 53%.
