Analysis of the physico-mechanical properties of coal seam and rock of Heping Mine No. 7 coal seam

In order to analyze the physico-mechanical properties of coal rocks in the No. 7 coal seam of Heling Mine, experimental analysis of coal rocks in the mining area was carried out in the laboratory. On the basis of full investigation and understanding of the production conditions and geological profile of the mine, the top and bottom plates of the No. 7(4) coal seam were sampled and prepared into standard experimental blocks by cutting and grinding. The experimental results showed that the compressive strength of the mudstone of the top plate was about 8.15 MPa, the tensile strength about 3.05 MPa, and the maximum shear stress 3.23 MPa; the medium-grained sandstone had an average compressive strength of 49 MPa; the average tensile strength 4.36 MPa, and the maximum shear stress 2.8 MPa; as medium stable top plate. The working surface base plate was mainly carbonaceous mudstone with an average compressive strength of 10.32 MPa and an average tensile strength of 0.81 MPa, and the working surface base plate strength was of a softer grade.
