Aiming at the short natural fire cycle of No.8 coal seam mining in Wangzhuang Mine, with possible problem of spontaneous combustion of coal left in the mining area during the working face recovery, combined with the actual situation of mine production, the research and development of comprehensive fire prevention measures such as improving the extraction capacity of high extraction roadway to reduce the amount of air leakage in the mining area, slurry injection in the mining area, blocking the lower corner of the working face, spraying inhibitor in the mining area, etc. were given. When there were signs of coal spontaneous combustion in the mining area, nitrogen gas was injected into the working face goaf area by using the fixed nitrogen system on the ground to extinguish the fire, and the working face air-mining area was sealed by using the coal bag-built sealing wall after the work was finished. The evaluation results of the field application showed that the measures can effectively reduce the CO concentration in the mining area and inhibit the oxidation and spontaneous combustion of coal, which can ensure the safe recovery of the working face and production of the mine.
