The accumulation of gas in the backwind corner of the comprehensive mining working face made the local gas concentration too high, which posed a major safety hazard to the safety production of the working face. After analyzing the reasons of gas accumulation in the air return corner, it was found that under the effect of pressure difference between inlet and return air flow, the gas in the working face would flow back to the working face gradually with the airflow in the latter part of the working face, and finally gathered in the return corner, which caused the gas in the return corner to exceed the limit. Through the comprehensive management measures such as extraction from the top extraction roadway, from the large aperture of the gas extraction roadway and gas extraction from the return wind corner, the gas concentration in the return wind corner of the working face was maintained at 0.3% ~ 0.6%, which was relatively stable and can meet the needs of safe production of the working face.
