To address the problem of the roadway sides damage in the 2-105 recovery mining face in Shanxi Huobao Ganhe Mine, the surrounding rock was reinforced by strong reinforced support technology, and the reasonableness of the surrounding rock stability control scheme was verified by using FLAC3D software. The comparison between the effect of strong side support and the original support showed that the horizontal displacement of the retrieval gang and the displacement of the coal pillar gang were reduced to 29.89 mm and 10 mm respectively, which were 33.1% and 55.3% less than the original support scheme, and the stability of the surrounding rockwas better controlled by the strong side support.
