In order to alleviate the tension of mining area articulation and maximize the liberation of coal resource reserves to avoid wasting resources, with the background of 14272 working face and -600 downhill coal pillar working face, the eastern and southern boundary coal pillars of the shaft field were re-located to the outside of the shaft field by considering the geological and hydrogeological conditions, and the rationality of the boundary coal pillars was calculated and verified under the premise of ensuring safety.
