Due to the complex structural changes of the coal seam in Yongdingzhuang Mine, the limited borehole data obtaining coal seam information can no longer meet the needs of high productivity and efficiency of the mine. After field research and analysis, the wave impedance inversion (WII) technology was adopted to accurately obtain the coal seam thickness data in Yongdingzhuang on the basis of the original three-dimensional geological data. The coal seam thickness results obtained from the wave impedance inversion of working face 8106 were closer to the actual situation and more accurate, which was helpful to achieve high productivity and efficiency of the mine working face and the management goal of coal resources reserves.
