The organic geochemical research method was used to extract the sample and separate the components by organic solvent. The characteristics of organic matter were analyzed, and the organic matter and coal-forming environment were discussed. It was found by aromatics ratio that aromatic hydrocarbons dominated, indicating that coal No. 9 was a humic coal. The analysis of parameters such as Pr/C17 and Ph/C18 showed that No. 9 coal was formed in the swamp environment. The content of naphthalene series, phenanthrene series and glucosinolate in aromatic hydrocarbons was relatively high, indicating that the coal-forming plants were terrestrial high-grade plants, and the coal-forming environment was a marine-reduced environment.
