An analytical method for the simultaneous determination of seven elements which are iron, cobalt, nickel, chromium, magnesium, aluminum, silicon in metal catalysts by Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-OES)has been established. In the measurement process, metal catalysts were molten at high temperature in muffle furnace, and dissolved in acid solution, the seven elements were determined in the selected optimal analytical spectra and suitable instrument operating conditions, and combined with dynamic background correction technology. Within the linear range of all elements, the linear correlation coefficient of the calibration curve are above 0.999. The detection limits of seven elements in the method are 0.001 - 0.010 mg/L. The relative standard deviations ( RSD ) are less than 2%( n = 5 ) and the recoveries are in the range of 92% - 98%.The method is accurate, reliable and of high repeatability.
