The waste water containing ultra-high concentration NO3- and ultra-high BOD and COD( their value > 2 × 105 mg/L) was produced in the production of precious metal homogeneous catalysts including rhodium trichloride ( triphenyl phosphine ), palladium dipalladium tribenzyl acetone, palladium allyl chloride dimer, etc. and in the recovery process of precious metals by Lanzhou Jinchuan Precious Metal Material Corporation, Ltd. The physical sedimentation method and chemical decomposition method were combined to treat the wastewater. The experimental results showed that the treated wastewater could be discharged with COD ≤ 120 mg/L and BOD ≤ 150 mg/L in accordance with the standards.
