Based on the problem of overwidth of coal pillar, by theoretical analysis, engineering analogy and numerical simulation, and the possibility of small coal pillar roadway protection in 2105 working face was studied. The test results showed that 6 m wide small coal pillars were selected for roadway protection. During roadway mining, the roof and floor convergence of roadway in 2105 working face and the two sides were 73 mm and 47 mm respectively. During the normal mining of the working face, the influence of mining within the range of 85 m, the most severe influence within the range of 4 0 m of the working face, which can meet the safe production needs of the mine.
